Promade Fans FAQs

Promade fans consist of 2 to 20 eyelash extensions, each 0.03 mm to 0.07mm in thickness. These are used to create a volume lash sets. Traditionally, volume lash sets were only created using a specific technique called ‘Russian volume’. However, this advanced technique is very hard to learn and master, and takes a long time to perform during appointments. And so, premade fans (also known as promade fans) were born.

Promade fans come perfectly fanned out on a tray, so all you need to do is pick them up and apply them to your client’s natural lashes, just as you would with classic lashes.

They are very easy to use, so are great for lash artists who want to offer volume lashes, but haven’t completed a handmade Russian volume training yet. They’re also great for artists who simply want to cut down their lashing time so they can service more clients.

At Lash Jungle, we currently stock high-quality 3D to 14D promade fans in diameters of 0.03 to 0.07mm, in both single and mixed length trays. We offer a huge range, so that you can create absolutely ANY lash volume set your clients want – from hybrid, natural volume, and mega volume to Kim K wispy sets!

Promade fans have so many benefits!

They are great for clients who:

- Do not have the time to spend 2-3 hours on an eyelash extension appointment
- Have a bad back, are pregnant, or have another medical condition that means they cannot lie down for a long time

They’re also great for lash artists who:

- Are not trained in Russian volume lashes yet, but want to offer volume lashes to their clients
- Are trained in Russian volume lashes, but find these take too long during lash application
- Want to have perfect symmetrical fans and clean results
- Want to cut down their lashing time
- Want to attract more clients and increase their income
- Want to create different lash looks, ranging from hybrid to mega volume
- Want to offer more luxurious services, and be able to charge more per client

Promade fansare the newer generation of premade fans. Lash artists started calling them “Promade” because they resemble a handmade volume fan.

Compared to premade fans, promade fans are wider in appearance, have a thinner base and semi-shiny finish, and create a more natural, fluffier volume effect.

Best of all, promade fans come in variety of packaging options, such as Loose, Instant Setup, and XXL Eco Boxes, so you can find the most convenient and affordable option for you.

At Lash Jungle, we have promade fans available in many different types, such as Loose Promade fans, Instant Setup, and Promade fans XXL Eco Boxes. Essentially though, the fans inside are the same. They’re just in a different packaging and setup.

- Loose promade fans are our most economical option, though you will need a silicone pad to use them as they don’t come pre-lined for you.
- XXL Eco Boxes are the easiest to use, as the fans come perfectly laid out in a mega tray.
- With Instant Setup promade fans, the lash fans come attached to a clear fan strip. However, they are stacked on top of each other to save space. They are more affordable compared to XXL Eco Boxes, though you still need a silicone pad to use them.

Promade Fans do not damage natural lashes if applied correctly. As a lash artist, it’s important that you know how to distinguish natural lashes that are weak (short or fine), average (mid-thickness and length), and strong (thick or long) natural lashes. And choose the correct weight of volume fans that will not be too heavy for them. Please note Promade Fans weigh differently depending on their length, dimensions, and diameter.

Then how do you choose the right Promade Fans for your clients?

In terms of length, a general rule of thumb is to not apply extensions that are 30% longer than the natural lash. For this reason, we do not recommend using 14 or 15mm extensions on thin or short natural lashes.
Promade Fans at Lash Jungle come in so many different styles, 3D to 14D (or even higher), and when the dimensions are higher, such as 10D fans (10 extensions stuck together), of course, they will weigh more than lower dimension fans.
However, the diameter is actually more important than the number of extensions. Promade Fans are made of diverse diameter from 0.03 (the thinnest) to 0.10 (the thickest). As you can expect, the lower the diameter, the lash will be lighter. So even if we make 14D with 0.03, it will still be lighter than one 0.15 classic lash. On the other hand, 0.10 lashes are quite thick for Promade Fans. To maintain healthy natural lashes, you wouldn’t want to use this diameter for fans any higher than 3D. If you're still unsure, you can refer to our safe lashing guide. We have provided a table so you can understand the weight of each style. But luckily for you, at Lash Jungle, we only stock Promade Fans that don’t exceed the weight of 0.18 classic lash, so you don’t need to worry!

If your clients are very concerned about their lash health, we recommend that you go for lower dimensions such as 3D or 4D, with lighter diameters, and short or mid-length extensions up to 12mm. Also, avoid lashing on baby (anagen) lashes and give them time to grow out. It’s also a good idea to suggest that your clients use a lash growth serum every night. This way, their lashes will stay healthy, and they will be able to continuously get lash extensions.

When applied correctly with the right lash adhesive for your environment and speed, Promade fans offer great retention and will last as long as normal classic lashes would last. Our Promade fans have a slim, tiny base that makes it easy to apply on any natural lashes without weighing them down.
Promade fans can be applied from anywhere on natural lashes, including the top, bottom, or side, it comes down to your preference. However, if a client has naturally curly lashes, attaching from the bottom would be ideal.

For enhanced retention, we highly recommend that you take time to isolate each natural lash and avoid attaching a fan to multiple lashes. Clumping natural lashes together will cause poor retention as well as severe discomfort for your client.

Another tip would be to not overuse lash adhesive at the base, especially when applying mega volume (10D and above) Promade fans. If you are a beginner, take your time and try to hold the lashes enough so that the adhesive would cure completely. We suggest you read our blog articles to get an idea of how to maximise lash retention.

No. It's a misconception that premade fans are exclusively for beginners or those not skilled enough to make their own fans. In fact, many experienced lash artists use premade fans to save time or achieve a consistent look that may be challenging to replicate by hand.

Some argue that promade fans offer less customisation than handmade fans. While it was once true, it's not anymore. Handmade fans do provide infinite customisation, but now, premade fans come in a vast variety of dimensions from3D lashesto14D lashes, curls, fan widths, wispy and spike lashes, and evencoloured lashes. The sky's the limit! They can be mixed and matched to create a tailored look for each client. It’s important to consult with your client to find outwhich lash style suits them best.

Some believe promade fans look too fake or plasticky, resulting in an unnatural appearance and discomfort. However, this largely depends on the quality of the PBT material used in creating the fans. With a variety of materials available for eyelash extensions, low-quality ones may appear hard, stiff, and heavy. It’s important to choose promade fans from reputable brands with ample product reviews.

The standard method for creating hybrid lash sets is to mix half classic lashes or flat lashes with Promade fans. Start by applying thicker diameter lashes, such as 0.15 or 0.20 classic lashes, evenly spaced out. When about half of the natural lashes are covered, start applying volume fans to the remaining lashes. It's that simple! During infills, maintain the ratio by replacing the fallen-out lashes accordingly.

0.03: For mega volume sets (10D-14D or above)

0.03 diameter lashes are the thinnest lashes you can get. As these are so fine, we recommend that you handle them gently, to prevent them from being bent or damaged. They’re best used to create mega volume sets, as they are super lightweight. In fact, 14D 0.03 lashes are lighter than one 0.15 classic lash!

0.05: For full volume sets (5D-10D)
0.05mm thickness lashes are perfect to create a full volume set. They are a bit thicker than 0.03, so are easier to handle, but still very lightweight. So, feel free to use these for 5D, 8D, or 10D volume lashes. 0.05 lashes result in a very full look that is soft and fluffy at the same time.

0.07 For light volume sets (3D-6D)
0.07 is the diameter most commonly used for creating light volume sets. Lash artists love how easy it is to use these to create 3D, 5D and 6D fans. This diameter is also popular among clients, as it can create a natural effect that is not too extravagant.

Our Noir Narrow Promade Fans are created for those who want to achieve darker, denser, and fuller volume looks. The width of the fan is much narrower than our standard Promade Fans, and the shape of the base is designed for easier application on natural lashes compared to our standard ones.

Promade Fans are available in various diameters, typically ranging from 0.03mm, 0.05mm, 0.07mm, and up to 0.10mm, to cater to different lash styles and client preferences.

For natural lash sets, choose a thinner diameter such as 0.05mm and opt for lower dimensions such as 2D, 3D, and up to 5D Promade Fans. This adds subtle volume without overwhelming the natural lashes.

Unlike handmade volume fans, which you need to create using different techniques, Promade Fans come pre-fanned by the manufacturer and are ready for application. All you need to do is pick them up and apply them to the natural lashes like you would with classic lash applications. This saves time and effort and allows you to fit in more clients in a day.

Yes, Promade Fans can be used safely on clients with weak natural lashes by selecting fans with a lower diameter and ensuring proper isolation and application techniques.

The retention of Promade Fans is generally similar to classic lash extensions, but may largely vary based on the application skills of lash artists and client aftercare.

Yes, mixing Promade Fans with classic lashes can create a beautiful hybrid look, providing both volume and definition. We recommend using flat lashes 0.20 or premade spikes if you want a bolder and more dramatic effect.

Promade Fans are available in various curls, including B, C, D, L, and M curls, to create different lash styles and effects. B curl is the flattest of all curls, amazing for those who want a subtle enhancement, mature clients, or those who already have upward-facing or perky natural lashes. C curl is the safest choice, loved by most clients for being just right—not too curly or too flat. D curl is preferred by those who like a more visible effect, great for those with small or droopy eyes, as the curl makes their eyes look more open and youthful. L and M curls are popular for those who want their outer corners super lifted. At Lash Jungle, we offer these curls for you to find your favorite.

Store Promade Fans in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity. Keep them in their original packaging to avoid dust. We recommend using them within a year of purchase to avoid curls becoming loose over time.

While Promade Fans come pre-made, you can still customize the look by mixing different dimensions, lengths, diameters, and curls. With so many varieties available, including colored lashes, wispy lashes, and narrow fans collections, there are no limitations to the looks you can create with them.

Our Promade Fans are compatible with most eyelash extension glues from other brands. However, we recommend using Lash Jungle adhesive for the best results, as it is specifically designed for use with Promade Fans.

Promade Fans significantly reduce application time, allowing for a full set to be applied in about 1 to 1.5 hours compared to 2.5 to 3.5 hours for handmade fans. Please note that this is a general guide, and the timing can vary greatly depending on your skill level.

Clients should avoid water and steam for the first 24 hours, refrain from rubbing or picking at their lashes, avoid oil-based products, and gently clean their lashes with a lash cleanser to achieve the best retention possible with Promade Fans.
